Executive Director


Mr José Sette took up his new function at the International Coffee Organization on 1 May 2017.

Mr Sette graduated from Yale University in the United States with a degree in Administrative Sciences and holds an MBA with specialization in Finance from the American University. He has over 30 years of experience in international trade in both the public and the private sectors during which he held the following positions: Executive Director of the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) in Washington, United States; Executive Director ad interim and Head of Operations of the International Coffee Organization (ICO) in London, United Kingdom; Secretary-General of the Brazilian Association of Coffee Exporters in Santos, Brazil; Head of Economic Research Department and coffee trader at Inter-Continental de Café S/A in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and Head of International Treaties Division, Department of Studies in Coffee Economics at Instituto Brasileiro de Café (IBC) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
