CFC Executive Board approved a new project sponsored by the ICO

1 April 2010

The Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) has announced that in April 2010 the CFC Executive Board approved a new project sponsored by the ICO. Access to finance has been identified as a major obstacle for small holder farmers, especially in least developed countries. Seeking to address the matter directly, the project involves a sustainable credit guarantee scheme to promote scaling up of enhanced coffee processing practices. The total cost of the project is US$8,000,000 and it will be implemented in Ethiopia and Rwanda.
